"Underline and urban transformation" by Rosa Sugranes

The Underline is a private project that is inspired by the New York Highline. Similarly in Miami we have an elevated underground line and the part underneath was totally unusable. So a civic group created theunderline.org foundation and started to turn this area into a linear park, called the Underline, of more than 17 km.

I think Barcelona could take inspiration from these two projects and make a route full of trees and works of art somewhere in the city that needs to be revitalised. With the mobilisation of Barcelona's civil society, I think we could replicate this successful project in the city, following the model of Miami or New York, where this space has also been given other uses and there are yoga classes, games for children on weekends, even a piano and open-air concerts. It's a great project that adds a lot of value to the city.
