Barcelona Munich Day
On March 9 and 10 we will be organising the Barcelona Munich Day, a second Barcelona Day, aimed at promoting Barcelona and improving the international reputation of our city.
For two days, we will be explaining the Barcelona of Music, Investment and Science in Munich, a great European capital of art, science, technology, culture and industry very much alike Barcelona in many aspects, assisted by Barcelona Global members and other opinion leaders linked to Barcelona.
On March 9, we will be presenting at the Instituto Cervantes de Munich the Barcelona Obertura at the Barcelona, city of Music session, which will be featuring a keynote from the journalist of the Die Welt, Manuel Brug, and where the President and the Director of Barcelona Obertura, Ramon Agenjo and Victor Medem; the General Director of the Liceu Opera, Valentí Oviedo; the Director of the Festival de Peralada, Oriol Aguilà; and the Director of La Fura dels Baus, Carlus Padrissa, among others, will be participating in.
The IESE Business School campus in Munich will be hosting both sessions on March 10. Barcelona, a city to invest will be featuring a keynote by Jürgen Stackmann, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand, and Former President of the Seat and a round table discussion, moderated by the Honorary President of Barcelona Global, Gonzalo Rodés, with Fernando Carro, CEO of Bayer 04 Leverkusen; Timo Buetefisch, Co-founder and CEO of Cooltra; and Ana Campón Alonso, CFO Siemens Spain. The Secretary General of IESE Business School Jaume Armengou and the President of Barcelona Global, Pau Guardans; will be the ones commencing the conference’s kick off, while the Barcelona Deputy Mayor, Jaume Collboni, will be wrapping it up
The Barcelona, city of Science & Research session will be concluding the Barcelona Munich Day, with some of the city's main research-centre directors, the President of the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST), Andreu Mas-Colell; the Associate Director of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), Josep Maria Martorell and the Director Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies (ICREA), Antonio Huerta, will be explaining the main forefront science projects they are working on.
