- 'Barcelona in the Rankings' changes its image and focuses on the results of global rankings from 2019, to analyse the evolution of the big cities, and specifically of Barcelona, during these years of pandemic.
- Presentation of the results of the 11th edition of the International Council Perception Survey, through which the members of the International Council analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the city.
- Barcelona Global, with the support of more than 30 key players in tourism in the city, present the report 'Commitment to tourism as a driving force behind the Barcelona of talent', a new document with 10 proposals for tourism and the city -the third on tourism that Barcelona Global has published in the last 4 years.
- We present the results of the 5th edition of the International Talent Monitor. The survey carried out in collaboration with Banco Sabadell had 1,042 responses and 8 focus groups in which more than 60 people participated, coordinated by Mercer.
- We present the 2nd edition of the Barcelona Global Scale-Up Monitor 2021, carried out in collaboration with CaixaBank through DayOne, and with the methodological support of IESE Business School. The entrepreneurial ecosystem considers that the city is a good location to undertake. However, taxation, administration and difficulties in accessing investment and attracting talent are perceived as obstacles to the development of the ecosystem.
- Barcelona Global has prepared the report ‘El reto de posicionar Barcelona como destino para estudiantes internacionales universitarios y de posgrado’ with the aim of specifying and promoting the necessary steps to turn Barcelona into a global higher education hub.
- We have carried out the Survey Covid-19, a survey addressed to the members of the Barcelona Global International Council, to find out the international perception of the management of the Covid-19 crisis in Spain and the effects that the pandemic may have on international reputation from Barcelona.
- Barcelona Global Challenge: for a metropolitan and sustainable mobility, where we carry out a strategic reflection with more than 60 partners, experts and key actors in mobility to prepare concrete proposals for a new mobility model for Barcelona and at the metropolitan scale.
- Release of the documentary ‘Barcelona 2050. Retos urgents para un futuro sostenible’ with the aim of building the map of the Great Barcelona in 2050 through key metropolitan projects that respond to the changing needs of society, the economy and the planet. A co-production of Barcelona Global and Mediapro Studios, with the support of Aigües de Barcelona and El Consorci de la Zona Franca.
- Presentation of the report 'Barcelona economic centre: The challenge of re-economizing the centre of Barcelona', a proposal aimed at facilitating the return of economic activity to the city centre by using 18 buildings, currently in disuse.
- Barcelona Global Challenge on Public-Private-Partnerships, 16 proposals to renew the model of public-private collaboration on a metropolitan scale, specifically in the sectors of culture, health, science and research and Smart Cities. In collaboration with IESE Business School and more than 50 experts and partners from Barcelona Global.
- Presentation of the second edition of everis's City Talent Index, created by everis with the collaboration of Barcelona Global and which aims to assess Barcelona's position in relation to 24 European cities according to their ability to attract, develop and retain talent.
Platform for action
- Barcelona & Partners already identifies and works to attract projects with high added value for Barcelona, with a priority focus on four sectors: life sciences, smart mobility, industry 4.0 and digital tech. The agency has 26 major partners, from listed companies such as large multinationals and companies with strong roots in Barcelona. In addition, the Barcelona City Council, the Diputación de Barcelona, the Hospitalet de Llobregat City Council, as well as the State administration through the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona and the Generalitat de Catalunya, who will join in brief to the agency.
- The Barcelona Obertura Spring Festival celebrates its third edition with 16 concerts at major musical institutions (Palau de la Música, Gran Teatre del Liceu, and L'Auditori), with great names on the national and international scene. In parallel, the Obertura City+ offers a circuit of 28 free concerts, spread over 22 different venues in Barcelona.
- Barcelona Global has proposed amending six points in the draft Startup Law. The proposals aim to improve the law approved by the Council of Ministers in December 2021 that seeks to encourage the return of talent, attract new professionals, and promote startups.
- The Barcelona International Welcome Desk is inaugurated, a new office located in the Media TIC building in the 22@ innovation district, aimed at international talent who want to come and live in Barcelona or who have just moved to the city. Barcelona Global initiated this proposal and has been working very hard to promote its implementation. This office, therefore, is a very relevant 'Make it happen' and we celebrate that Barcelona City Council has made it possible.
- Barcelona Global presents the city to more than 600 international students from IESE, ESADE, EADA and UPF Barcelona School of Management in the third edition of Barcelona MBA Day, with the aim of making students aware of the competitive dimension of the city. newcomers.
- From Barcelona Global and with the collaboration of the Regional Plan Association of New York, the creation of a network of 15 global cities is promoted to study the responses to COVID-19.

- In 2019, Barcelona Global presented in London, the 1st edition of the Barcelona London Day, an event focuses in introducing the "Barcelona of investment, architecture and design, quality tourism, culture, and science", together with more than 50 renowned professionals from the cultural, science, and business sectors. In addition, more than 300 investors, opinion-leaders, media, and professionals specialized in each of the abovementioned sectors participated in these 5 topics.
- Meeting of the Executive Committee of Barcelona Global with the HM King Felipe VI, in which the Barcelona Agenda was presented.
- 7 sessions of 'Objectivo Barcelona: 50 questions for the candidates', in collaboration with La Vanguardia, to find out, from our political neutrality, what do the candidates think about the city-driven proposals that we have been working during the past years in the fields of research and talent, culture, social innovation, tourism, and housing and urban planning.
- Barcelona Global met with the Minister of Territorial Policy and Public Function Meritxell Batet, in which a list of five priority themes for the city was presented.
- Presentation of the Barcelona Obertura project in London's Wigmore Hall, attended by more than 50 people. It was the start of a round of events in several cities around the world.
- With the support of the most prestigious law firms in the city, Barcelona Global has conducted a study that compares Barcelona's taxation with cities like Madrid, New York, Zurich, Paris, London and Singapore. The report concludes with a set of proposals that would put Barcelona on the same footing as its competitors.
- Support for the Barcelona International Policy Sector Action Plan through a grant from the Fundació 'La Caixa' of €100,000 over 3 years.
- Creation of the BEST Foundation (Barcelona Engineering Science and Technology) to support and finance the degree in 'Industrial Technologies and Economics' at the UPC and UPF universities.

Platform for mobilization and creation of a community
- We launched the program Barcelona en primera persona. Coinciding with a time when Barcelona had hardly any visitors, we decided to bring the main tourist and cultural attractions of Barcelona closer to the Barcelona Global members. For four months, nearly 200 members have had the unique opportunity to rediscover 26 emblematic and representative spaces of Barcelona in a unique moment and at the hands of their directors and managers.
- Barcelona 2040 kicks off, a leadership and city program aimed at young people between 26 and 35 years old, who are professionally active and have 5 to 8 years of experience and are interested in and committed to the future of the city of Barcelona. The program already has 3 editions (Barcelona 2040, 2041 and 2042) and has launched the Barcelona 2040 Alumni, the network of participants who have completed the program.
- The Barcelona Global Blog is born, a content platform created by the association to publicize Barcelona that moves, that does things and that, ultimately, is capable of becoming one of the best cities in the world for talent and activity economic.
- Barcelona City of Talent: Barcelona as a city of talent through an Instagram account aimed at explaining to the world the Barcelona that promotes talent that has been born and has decided to live here. This national and international talent and the projects that are carried out in the city thanks to this added value are the ones that can best explain the authentic Barcelona.
