The first step towards the 1st Barcelona Global Summit: Innovation in urban tourism took place the 15th of November at the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management Sant Ignasi as more than fifty members of Barcelona Global gathered to debate about the future turistic model of Barcelona.
Greg Clark, the prestigious urbanist and member of the Barcelona Global International Council, started the day by lecturing all the attendees about the practices implemented in other Global Cities in order to tackle different challenges created by the tourism in the 21st century. Afterwards, the participants were divided into five groups according to the challenges, which range from the seasonal adjustment to the economic reinvestment.
During the Challenge workshop, a valuable atmosphere of teamwork was created and at the end of the session the representatives of each group presented their working guidelines for the following weeks.
