Description
Over the years, Barcelona has become an European hub for startups. However, it is not considered a preeminent city for the installation of entities related to the Fintech sector.
With the collaboration of the Barcelona Centre Financer Europeu, the Asociación de Empresas Financieras y Tecnológicas de España and the Spanish Committee of the European League of Economic Cooperation, during three sessions on January 2017, 63 participants, experts in the fields of finance and insurance linked to the technological world, as well as consultants, lawyers and entrepreneurs, worked to identify the different factors that we must develop in the city to play a role in the global scenario of the Fintech sector.
Objectives
- Identify the different factors that we must develop in the city to be able to host and propose global solutions that impact on the transformation of the financial and insurance sector.
- Promote a working group with the administration to power the sector in Barcelona.
Conclusions
- Promote a "Fintech Desk" with the participation of Fintech entities, financial and insurance entities, investors, city integrators to facilitate business relations between them and create a reference ecosystem with the main agents of the Fintech value chain.
- Together with the Fintech Desk, promote a periodic work seminar in Barcelona with the regulators and other agents closing the fintech ecosystem to analyze the technical aspects of the business and regulation.
