  • 2nd edition of the Barcelona Obertura Spring Festival

    This Friday, March 5, starts the second edition of the Barcelona Obertura Spring Festival*, which will last until Sunday, March 28. The festival, promoted by Barcelona Global, in collaboration with the Barcelona City Council, has the joint programming of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Palau de la Música Catalana and L’Auditori de Barcelona. 

    This edition features 13 concerts distributed among the three great musical institutions -Gran Teatre del Liceu, Palau de la Música Catalana and L'Auditori de Barcelona-, and it has the participation of great artists from both national and international scene such as Gustavo Dudamel, Josep Pons, Elim Cham, Raphael Pichon, Gregory Kunde, Krassimira Stoyanova and Andrè Schuen, among others.

    At the same time, with the aim of bringing music to all citizens, starts the Obertura City +, a circuit of 27 free concerts distributed throughout the 10 city districts which will address three thematic axes: Robert Gerhard Universe, Europe’s Fusion and Beethoven - The 32 sonatas for piano.

    The second edition of the Barcelona Obertura Spring Festival consolidates the Barcelona Obertura strategy to promote the city's classical music and to position Barcelona as a world class destination for cultural and musical trips.

    *All concerts will have a strict monitoring of the sanitary measures dictated by the authorities. Access to the enclosures will be made progressively, with temperature control and application of hydroalcoholic gel.
